Your utility delivers the power and its rate cases set the delivery charges. The supply portion comes from the supplier you choose, or the default rate if you never chose. Both move independently.
About +$15/month on a typical bill. JCP&L filed with the NJ BPU on August 7, 2026 for a $253 million base distribution increase, about 8.8% or $14.23/month for a residential customer using 767 kWh (about $18.55 scaled to 1,000 kWh). Rates would take effect May 6, 2027 but residential offsets delay the bill impact to January 2028, when a separate 10-year charge recovering $476 million of deferred storm costs also begins. BPU review typically takes about nine months.
About +$23/month on a typical bill. No PSE&G base rate case was filed in 2025-2026 (its last was settled in October 2024), but the BPU-approved February 2025 Basic Generation Service auction raised PSE&G residential electric supply prices on June 1, 2025 by about 17% on the electric bill: a 650 kWh customer went to about $183 per month, roughly $27 more, which scales to about $41.50 at 1,000 kWh. PSE&G's BPU-approved Temporary Supply Offset Clause spread part of the increase out of the July-September 2025 bills.
