U-21870: Consumers Energy asked the MPSC in 2025 for about $436 million more per year plus a $24.3 million surcharge (about 13% for residential customers) for its Reliability Action Plan, including burying lines, stronger poles and five-year tree trimming. The March 27, 2026 order approved $276.6 million at a 9.9% ROE, raising residential rates 8.9%; a 500 kWh customer pays $6.46 (6.1%) more per month from May 1, 2026, which scales to about $12.92 at 1,000 kWh. U-21585: Consumers Energy's 2024 electric case asked for about $325 million ($303 million in rates plus a $22 million surcharge, an 8.2% residential increase) mainly for distribution reliability work. On March 21, 2025 the MPSC approved $153.8 million, a 2.8% residential increase, with new rates in spring 2025; the per-customer dollar figure was not stated in the source. Source
