San Diego Gas & Electric Pending
About +$8/month on a typical bill. SDG&E's 2028 General Rate Case, filed June 15, 2026, asks for a $3.8 billion 2028 revenue requirement ($2.9 billion electric), a $280 million or 8.1% increase over estimated 2027 levels, citing wildfire insurance, employee benefits, 600 miles of undergrounding/covered conductor, aging infrastructure and cybersecurity. SDG&E estimates an average residential electric bill increase of about $14.03 per month (8.6% combined with gas) starting Jan. 1, 2028; a CPUC decision is expected in late 2027.
Pacific Gas & Electric Pending
About +$10/month on a typical bill. PG&E's 2027 General Rate Case asks for $16.64 billion in 2027 revenue, a $1.237 billion (8%) increase over 2026, then 6.1% more in each of 2028-2030, for distribution, generation and gas system capital and operating costs. CPUC says a non-CARE electric customer using 500 kWh would pay $11.18 (5.2%) more per month in 2027 versus 2025; scaled to 1,000 kWh that is about $22.36. A CPUC decision is expected in May 2027.
LADWP Approved
About +$6/month on a typical bill. LADWP has no rate case; its Board sets pass-through adjustment factors under the 2016 rate ordinance. The Board letter dated May 12, 2025 (approved for the July 1, 2025 rate year) authorized FY2025-26 Power System Reliability Program capital, O&M and debt service for the Reliability and Incremental Reliability Cost Adjustments, raising the median residential customer's (300 kWh) bill by about $3.89 per month, or $0.01297 per kWh, which scales to about $12.97 at 1,000 kWh. LADWP's 2026 pass-through factors (energy cost, reliability) pushed residential tier rates roughly 8-11% above early-2025 levels without a new ordinance.
Pacific Gas & Electric Approved
About +$-5/month on a typical bill. PG&E cut per-kWh rates 3.7% on March 1 2026 and added a $24/month Base Services Charge ($6 CARE, $12 FERA). Low-usage households see higher bills, high-usage households lower.
Southern California Edison Approved
About +$15/month on a typical bill. SCE's 2025 GRC (filed May 2023) sought a $10.48 billion 2025 revenue requirement, a roughly $1.9 billion (14.4% bill) increase over 2024. The CPUC decision of Sept. 18, 2025 approved $9.664 billion (+$1.082 billion, 12.6%), raising a 500 kWh non-CARE residential bill by $15.52 (9.1%) from $171.17 to $186.69, with rates effective Oct. 1, 2025 and the Jan-Sept 2025 shortfall recovered over 24 months; scaled to 1,000 kWh that is about $31. Money funds wildfire grid hardening (undergrounding, covered conductor), aging infrastructure and load growth.
