2026 rate adjustments (approved Nov 2025): On November 5, 2025 the Florida PSC approved Tampa Electric's 2026 rate changes (year-two base rate step from docket 20240026-EI plus annual fuel, capacity and conservation clause updates), adding about $5.50/month for a typical household from January 2026; storm-recovery surcharges continue through summer 2026 with a possible reduction in September 2026. 20240026-EI: The Florida PSC (vote December 2024, final order PSC-2025-0038-FOF-EI issued February 3, 2025) approved base rate increases of $185.9 million for 2025, $86.6 million for 2026 and $9.1 million for 2027. A 1,000 kWh residential bill rose from $136.44 to $145.58 ($9.14) in January 2025. Money is for solar, grid resiliency, Polk plant upgrades and storm hardening. Source
